Zero Sum at Encounters Short Film Festival, Bristol

We were very happy to pile into the sold-out screening of Zero Sum (along with several other excellent films!) at the Watershed in Bristol where the film was showing as part of the incomparable Encounters festival.

It was great to see the film projected on such a scale and the feedback from the audience was very pleasing.

An excellent night all round.

Trailer for Zero Sum

We've just unveiled the trailer for our short film Zero Sum starring Aimee-Ffion Edwards and Phil Davis. And here it is.

The film is being submitted to festivals around the world and it will be a while before it is available to watch online. We hope that this brief snippet will entertain in the meantime.

Zero Sum is finished

We have recently finished our short film Zero Sum and it is now being submitted to film festivals around the world.

Set on a spaceship orbiting an alien world, Zero Sum tells the story of Ruth Sharman (Aimee-Ffion Edwards) who wakes from a deep sleep to a discovery that will force her to make an impossible choice. Also featuring Phil Davis as Neumann, Zero Sum is a science-fiction story, Long Arm style.

Post-production sound mixing and colour grading was completed at Halo Post in London's Soho and its stunning visual effects are the work of the immensely talented Al Tabrett. Composer Andrew Fisher has delivered a delicate, unnerving and huge effective score and DP' Paul Dudbridge's photography gives the film a claustrophobia that makes Ruth's struggle seem all the more desperate.

Zero Sum will not be available to watch online anytime soon but we will keep updating our website and Facebook page with notices of screenings at festivals.

Thanks to everyone who has helped us deliver our most challenging and ambitious project to date and particular thanks to Film Cymru Wales, BFI.NETWORK and Edicis for their co-funding and support.

Below is an exclusive still taken from the final film.

Phil Davis joins the cast of Zero Sum

We are excited to announce that Phil Davis has joined the cast of our short sci-fi film Zero Sum.

Phil is an actor of supreme talent and his CV boats some incredible work including roles in Poldark, Sherlock, Bleak House, Another Year, Vera Drake and, of course, Quadrophenia.

His contribution to Zero Sum is already 'in the can' and we can't wait to release the final film so you can see Phil and Aimee-Ffion Edwards sharing the screen.

More Zero Sum news as and when we have it.

Zero Sum in post-production

Long Arm Films' sci-fi short Zero Sum has now been shot and is in post-production, with an expected delivery date of the end of March 2016. It will then begin a season of festival submissions.

Zero Sum stars Aimee-Ffion Edwards (Detectorists, Wolf Hall, Queen and Country, Peaky Blinders, etc) and tells the story of one woman waking up alone in a space pod orbiting an alien planet.

We will be making another casting announcement shortly as well as giving details of some of the technical talent working on the film.
